Just got home! I went to the book fair with mom this afternoon.

I thought we were just going to look (there's kind of a money shortage for both of us right now and books are horribly expensive in Chile), but we caved in. She gave me two books as a gift, and I bought other three. "If I can't make ends meet again", I said "I can always pawn off something 8Db"

And if that fails... well. Ramen is cheap /o/

La segunda vez que supo de él fue mirándolo de frente. Tenía los ojos verdes y el cuerpo unido a una bestia de cuatro patas, igualito al resto del grupo en el que intentaba mezclarse. No estoy muy segura de cómo irá el fan-canon para Pueblo Mapuche en el fandom, la verdad. Más bien me estoy apegando a la historia.

............- En 1520 Magallanes (portugués) y Elcano (español) cruzan el Estrecho y se joden para siempre a los Aónik'enk (rama Tehuelche del sector). En esos tiempos los Mapuches todavía no comenzaban a ............. disputarles el terreno, como ocurriría un par de siglos más tarde.
............- En 1535 aparece Almagro por estas tierras. La batalla de Reinohuelén ocurre en 1936, con consecuencias desastrosas para los mapuches, pero incentivando a los españoles a regresar al Perú.
............- Valdivia llega en 1541, y funda la ciudad de Santiago el 12 de Febrero de ese mismo año. "La mujer" a la que se menciona con él es, por supuesto, Inés de Suárez.

Another indicator you’re friend is a Rook, throw a strategy game at them. They enjoy Risk, Bridge, Chess, and word games. Never rush the Rook. They don’t draw conclusions very quickly. If one were to gather a bunch of Rooks together to form a group they may debate:

1.) Whether or not there should be a group.

2.) Exactly what name should the proposed group choose?

3.) Which of the persons in the group should take responsibility or should they rotate?

Last Friday I started going to a great Creative Writing Workshop. It's on Wednesdays and Fridays, and it's fucking awesome. I learnt a lot last class. Today, though... uhm. My social/performance anxiety kicked in in overdrive, and despite the fact I showered, dressed nicely, and even put make-up on (something I NEVER do, and probably because I was subconsciously trying to delay my exit), I wasn't able to leave the house :( So no Literary Workshop for me today. ... Se preguntarán, me imagino, "¿Qué es un Dressing Room?". La respuesta viene, como tantas otras veces, del fandom en inglés: Los Dressing Rooms son un tipo de RPG informal. Total libertad para jugar a quien desees, cómo lo desees, y en el formato en que gustes. Baja presión para responder en un entorno creativo, amistoso y relajado.

La premisa ofrecida es la siguiente: Tu personaje aparece, de un día para otro, en un edificio pintado de riguroso blanco del que no es posible salir. No hay ventanas que miren afuera, pero sí numerosos pasillos llenos de puertas.

Tras estas puertas, puede haber cualquier cosa.

Y cuando digo cualquier cosa, es realmente cualquier cosa. Lo que tu imaginación quiera, vamos: Habitaciones normales, bares, cocinas, baños, gimnasios. O habitaciones que misteriosamente contengan playas de cielo azul y palmeras. O habitaciones con efectos. ¿Regresar a la infancia? Entre los -al menos- cinco sueños que recuerdo de mi maratón de 28 horas durmiendo (yes, I know, WTF) hay uno que ahora recuerdo y me hace reír.

Estaba con mi familia en uno de esos settings exóticos que uno tiene en los sueños a veces. IDK, tenía cara de selva centroamericana, y andábamos de paseo, viste. IDK. El caso es, no recuerdo a pito de qué fué que empecé a darles una disertación sobre la naturaleza de las teleseries en Latinoamérica. (Que yo NO veo.)

Era todo un análisis sociológico, ven. "Por ejemplo, en las teleseries mexicanas y venezolanas", exponía yo, "lejos el grupo socioeconómico más representado es el de clase alta-alta. Son fantasías escapistas. Las únicas excepciones son cuando la protagonista es esta chica pobre-pero-buena, que se ve recompensada al final casándose con el protagonista millonario. Es el mito de la Cenicienta perpetuado."
